I’m really excited to see so many folk and lofi indie rock musicians on the music lineup for this years SXSW festival! South by Southwest has been the go to music festival for discovering new talent, and has grown in popularity over the years. I was in Austin this time last year working with the House of Creatives project – and was fortunate enough to meet some amazing musicians including Gus+Scout, Doe Paoro, The Good The Bad, Elle King, Fallulah and the Allah Las who will all be attending again this year!

Since I’m craving warm weather, new music, Texas BBQ, Tito’s Vodka, a smoothie from Juicebox Soup Peddler, boys in cowboy boots and a big hug from my friend Erin  – here are a few of the bands I’m having SXSW 2013 lineup lust over:

The Last Bison – Switzerland

In The Valley Below –  Peaches

Foxygen –   No Destruction

Jesse Woods –  Sparks

Gus + Scout – Don’t Bother You Much

Lord Huron –  Lonesome Dreams

Devendra Banhart – Mi Negrita

Spirit Family Reunion – 100 Greenback Dollar Bills

Allah Las – Tell Me (What’s On Your Mind)

Jenny O – Well Ok Honey

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds–  We No Who UR

Elle King – Playing For Keeps

Pumcayo –   Indio

Ruby Jane –  I Am Trying To Break Your Heart (Wilco cover)

Shakey Graves –  Roll The Bones

Wardell – Opossum

These are just my folky/rock pics of course – there are plenty of hip hop and rock bands that I would love to see as well! I’ve also never attended the interactive portion of the festival but I’ve heard it’s pretty amazing & I’m sure the newest of the new techy finds will be debuting there this week.

Who are you most excited to see in Austin this year?? I’ll be keeping my eye out for new bands ..
